{"id":3756,"date":"2026-02-03T17:48:26","date_gmt":"2026-02-03T15:48:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/raintreecoaching.com\/?p=3756"},"modified":"2026-02-03T17:55:13","modified_gmt":"2026-02-03T15:55:13","slug":"why-are-my-managers-not-managing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/raintreecoaching.com\/index.php\/2026\/02\/03\/why-are-my-managers-not-managing\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Why Are My Managers Not Managing?\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Whether you believe in the symbolism or not, 2026 being recognised as \u201cThe Year of the Horse\u201d has struck a chord, even in the business world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Horse represents drive, movement, stamina, and momentum. It speaks to a year of activity, transformation, and renewed energy. A year of big dreams, bold strategies, innovation, and leading.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Across organisations, leaders are setting ambitious 5 to 10-year goals. They are investing, restructuring, integrating AI, disrupting old markets, and building new ones. The intention is clear. The challenge lies in execution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201cWhy are my managers not managing?\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Many of our clients come to us because they are tired, as CEOs and executives, of being pulled down into the operations. They feel their managers aren\u2019t really managing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Senior leaders find themselves firefighting, mediating, and making decisions several levels below. This steals their time, frustrates them, and adds pressure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Disruption, intensive thinking, decisive action, and leading in the messy world means leaders have to do things differently. Strategy alone does not bring about change. People do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Resistance is part of change. Teams may hesitate, become controlling, fight, withdraw, or stop contributing. Resistance is treated as the problem. It is actually leadership-gold that shows where our teams need extra support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201cWhat do my managers need?\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Imagine your managers supporting you in critical thinking, collaboration, communication, creativity and courage? At RainTree, we call these the 5 C\u2019s of modern leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Managers you can rely on are confident in the 5 C\u2019s. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>are calm decision-makers,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>have courageous conversations,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>work across departments,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>teach and learn from others,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>are clear and honest,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>proactively solve problems they have identified,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>and innovate with others.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A leader\u2019s job is to create a space for managers to reflect, recognise old patterns, build confidence, and decide how to take action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the Year of the Horse, momentum matters.
